SIGs Associated with the Washington, DC Chapter

Consulting and Independent Contracting
The STC Washington, DC Chapter Consulting and Independent Contracting (CIC) SIG provides a forum where consultants and independent contractors in the DC area can exchange ideas, leads, referrals, best practices, and mutual support and camaraderie. We meet to network and discuss topics of interest. We also maintain this website as a resource and work on special projects of benefit to our members and to the technical communication profession in general.
Usability and User Experience
The Usability SIG focuses on issues related to the usability and usability assessment of technical communication, providing a forum in which STC members can share information and experience. Usability SIG activities include planning and conducting presentations on usability and usability testing at STC Annual Conferences, and compiling a bibliography of usability-related books and articles.

Regularly check the newsletter issues and this website for chapter-level SIG meeting topics and locations.

The STC Washington, DC chapter is always seeking SIG managers. If you are interested in starting a new chapter-level SIG in the STC Washington, DC chapter, get started by downloading and following the Guidelines for Forming SIGs  (PDF file 122K PDF).

If anyone is interested in starting a new chapter-level SIG that can help us as professionals, please contact the chapter president, Kristen Sweet, at .
