Topic: "The Humorous World of Managing Documentation"

About the Meeting

Is there anything funny about ever-changing deadlines and requirements? Is working with uncooperative subject matter experts a side-splitting experience? Maybe not. There are steps you can take, however, to help make your management tasks more pleasant. This presentation applies to everyone involved in documentation—managers, manager wannabes, team leaders, or those who want to learn how to manage their manager.

Don't forget your business cards! We collect a business card from each attendee for a chance to win the registration fee for the Annual conference. The drawing takes place at the March meeting. The more meetings you attend, the more chances to win.

About the Speaker

Doreen A. Mannion, a senior member of STC, has been involved in the communications field for over 15 years. A graduate of Cal State Long Beach, when the pope was shot on her first day as a journalist, she took it as an omen and immediately fell into the wacky world of tech doc. Doreen has worked as an advertising salesperson, marcom writer, technical editor, technical writer, proofreader, indexer, insurance agent, sports talk show host, and football official. Doreen is currently Director of Quality Assurance & Information Delivery for SOFTWORKS, Inc., a software company headquartered in Alexandria, VA.
