About the Meeting

Emi Ireland, President, and Phil Tajitsu Nash, CEO, of Science Writers will review the steps necessary for documentation specialists to make the transition to Web site design. They will show examples of good and bad Web design to assist writers who are called upon to evaluate or supervise Web design consultants on their staff. Those making the transition to Web work are especially welcome, and Emi and Phil will spend time after the meeting reviewing resumes and answering questions.

Emi Ireland is President and Phil Tajitsu Nash is CEO of Science Writers (http://www.sciencewriters.com), a full-service documentation company in Bethesda, Maryland. Starting as independent contractors doing user guides, requirements analysis, online Help systems, and other products, their clients included high-tech firms, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Learning HTML, JavaScript, and other tools during the course of their work, they eventually started creating Web sites for political candidates, commercial clients, and nonprofit organizations. Earlier this year, they formalized their move to the internet by creating a new online campaigning division of Science Writers called Campaign Advantage (http://www.campaignadvantage.com).
