About the Event

The Summer Planning meeting of the STC WDC Administrative Council will be held at Laura Jackel's house in Gaithersburg, Maryland. A preliminary agenda will be distributed by e-mail for review. The final agenda will be distributed at the meeting. We will start with the business meeting (Administrative Council members will report on their committee, listen, discuss, plan for the next year, and turn over materials to new people on the Administrative Council), then eat, socialize, and play croquet. Food is potluck—please bring your favorite culinary specialty (bought or homemade). Spouses and significant others are invited. Incoming members may find it helpful to meet with their outgoing counterparts before the council meeting to get briefed on their duties. Chapter officers and committee managers should check with Laura Jackel to get an idea of the past year's budget for their committee. To keep the business meeting as short as possible, I'm asking all chapter officers and committee managers for the next year to come prepared with a report that includes a goal, budget, and schedule, if possible. If you cannot attend, please send your report to me or another council member so we will have your input.

Chapter members not on the Administrative Council are welcome to attend and participate in all Administrative Council meetings. Only elected chapter officers are eligible to vote on administrative issues. Other members of the extended council serve as advisors to the officers on administrative issues.
