Chapter-Level Service Awards

Throughout the 52-year history of the Washington, DC Chapter, many dedicated volunteers have contributed to its success. Chapter-level service awards recognize a member's outstanding contributions to the Washington, DC Chapter. Chapter members are nominated by the chapter president for a Distinguished Chapter Service Award (DCSA) from the Society.

Distinguished Chapter Service Awards

This award acknowledges the work of chapter members who provide exemplary service to the Society through their dedication to the chapter and its activities. Recipients are selected on the following basic criteria:

  • Length of chapter membership
  • Consistency of service over the time of chapter membership
  • Variety of service to STC

Society-Level Service Awards

Distinguished SIG Service Awards

In 2002, the Society initiated a formal awards program to recognize the commitment and hard work of members of its special interest groups (SIGs). The Distinguished SIG Service Award (DSSA) acknowledges the work of SIG members who provide exemplary service to the Society through their dedication to a SIG and its activities. Recipients are selected on the following basic criteria:

  • Length of SIG membership
  • Consistency of service over the time of SIG membership
  • Variety of service to STC
