By Metro:
- Take the Blue line toward Franconia-Springfield or the Yellow line toward Huntington.
- Exit the train at the Pentagon City Metro station.
- When you exit the station, turn left in the walkway tunnel.
- Straight ahead you will see the entrance to the Fashion Center at Pentagon City (Pentagon City Mall). Ascend the escalator into the mall. At the top of the escalator, you will see Ruby Tuesday’s on the left and a Fast-Fix jewelry repair shop on the right.
- Continue straight ahead toward the Alamo Flags souvenir stand and the food court.
- At the Alamo Flags stand, take a left toward Aunt Annie’s Pretzels.
- Continue walking along the left side of the food court.
- Looking straight ahead, you will see a carpeted exit ramp that ascends toward the mall garage. Follow the ramp through the doors and into the garage.
- Continue straight ahead to the carpeted walkway. Follow the walkway to the end.
- You will see an elevator on the right and a short stairway on the left. Take the elevator or stairs to the street level.
- At the top of the stairs to the right (or left from the elevator), you will see the entrance to Pentagon Row. Walk through the Pentagon Row entrance. You will enter a large open court with restaurants and shops.
- Follow the court along the left side, passing the Sine Irish Pub, Thaiphoon Thai restaurant, and several other businesses.
- When you reach the DSW Shoe Warehouse, turn left onto Joyce Street. Across the street you will see your destination: 1400 S. Joyce Street—a large red brick apartment building with the address on the driveway pillars. The building is called the Potomac at River House.
- Continue walking down Joyce Street, passing World Market, an art gallery, a Chinese restaurant, and a Subway sandwich shop, until you reach the crosswalk at Eckerd Drug.
- At the crosswalk, cross Joyce Street and continue up the walk to the Potomac building.
- Use the dial-up phone in the foyer to call apartment 1133. You can use "Bolling" or "VanArsdall" to dial. If you have a cell phone, call 703-486-2952 and we will send someone to let you in.

Southbound from Washington, DC:
- Take 1-395 south to Virginia.
- Take Exit 8C - Route 1 South/Pentagon City (a left-side exit ramp).
- Follow Route 1 south to the 15th Street Exit.
- At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right onto 15th Street.
- Staying in the right lane, follow 15th Street past Costco.
- Continue through the intersection at 15th and Hayes Streets. You will see a park on the left and two apartment buildings on the right.
- Just past the second apartment building, you will come to the parking garage entrance for the Fashion Center at Pentagon City (Pentagon City Mall). Turn right into the garage entrance.
- After parking your car, follow the walking directions.
Southbound from Baltimore/Silver Spring:
- Take 495 South (Capital Beltway) toward Northern Virginia/Bethesda.
- Just past the Cabin John Bridge, take Exit 43 – George Washington Memorial Parkway.
- After merging onto the GW Parkway, you will drive for about 11 miles, passing the Chain Bridge, Spout Run, and Key Bridge exits.
- Eventually you will merge onto Washington Boulevard/VA-27 South. Watch for merging traffic, then move into the right lane.
- Merge onto the exit ramp for the Lyndon B. Johnson/Pentagon exit. When the ramp splits, follow the right branch until you reach a Yield sign.
- Staying in the right lane, continue straight ahead. Yielding to merging traffic, take the 244 West Columbia Pike/Navy Annex exit.
- The exit ramp comes to a Yield sign at Columbia Pike. Cross into the left lane. You will see a Citgo station on the left.
- At the traffic light, turn left onto S. Joyce Street.
- Staying in the left lane, follow Joyce Street underneath the 395 underpass until you reach the intersection of Joyce and Army-Navy Drive. You will see a Bed, Bath, and Beyond store on the left corner and the first of three River House apartment buildings on the right.
- Turn left onto Army-Navy Drive. Move into the right lane as quickly as possible.
- Pass the Harris Teeter grocery store on the right.
- Just past the grocery store is the Pentagon City Mall parking garage. Turn right into the garage entrance.
- After parking your car, follow the walking directions.
Westbound from Eastern Maryland:
- Take I-495 across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Virginia.
- Just past the bridge, look for an exit for Route 1 North. When you take the exit, take the second exit ramp toward Arlington.
- Follow Route 1 north through Old Town Alexandria. (In Old Town, Route 1 is Patrick Street.)
- Follow Route 1 until you ascend onto a bridge. Stay in the right lane, following the bridge to an intersection with a traffic light.
- At the light, turn right. At this point, you are still on Route 1 and are in Arlington County. This section of Route 1 is known as the Jefferson Davis Highway.
- Continue following Route 1 into Crystal City. You will pass a shopping center with a Target store on the right, and you will begin to see a number of hotels and tall office buildings.
- Take the 15th Street exit. On the exit ramp, stay in the left lane.
- At the bottom of the ramp, turn left at the traffic light onto 15th Street.
- Staying in the right lane, follow 15th Street past Costco.
- Continue through the intersection at 15th and Hayes Streets. You will see a park on the left and two apartment buildings on the right.
- Just past the second apartment building, you will come to the parking garage entrance for the Fashion Center at Pentagon City (Pentagon City Mall). Turn right into the garage entrance.
- After parking your car, follow the walking directions.
Northbound from the Virginia I-95 Corridor:
- Take northbound I-95 to northbound I-395.
- Follow I-395 for about eight miles to Exit 8C - Pentagon City.
- At the traffic light, turn right onto Army Navy Drive.
- Move to the left lane.
- Continue straight ahead through the intersection of Hayes Street and Army-Navy Drive. You will see a Macy’s store on the left.
- Staying on Army-Navy Drive, continue past Macy’s until you see the Pentagon City Mall garage on the left.
- Turn left into the parking garage.
- After parking your car, follow the walking directions.
Eastbound from Virginia Route 66:
- Take Route 66 east toward Washington, DC.
- Just past the Rosslyn exit, you will enter a short tunnel. As you exit the tunnel, you will see merging traffic coming from the right. As quickly as you can, merge into the far right lane and take Exit 75 - Route 110 South.
- Follow Route 110 south until it turns into Route 1 South.
- Follow Route 1 south to the 15th Street Exit.
- At the bottom of the ramp, turn right onto 15th Street.
- Staying in the right lane, follow 15th Street past Costco.
- Continue through the intersection at 15th and Hayes Streets. You will see a park on the left and two apartment buildings on the right.
- Just past the second apartment building, you will come to the parking garage entrance for the Fashion Center at Pentagon City (Pentagon City Mall). Turn right into the garage entrance.

Parking
Park in the Pentagon City Mall garage. Then walk several blocks to the apartment building.
Walking Directions from the Pentagon City Mall Garage:
Your goal is to leave the Pentagon City Mall garage and walk through Pentagon Row, a complex of shops and restaurants directly across the street from our meeting site. Pentagon Row is adjacent to the Pentagon City Mall.
- After parking your car, descend to the bottom level of the parking garage.
- Opposite the garage entrance to the Mall's food court, there is a carpeted walkway. Follow the walkway to the end.
- You will see an elevator on the right and a short stairway on the left. Take the elevator or stairs to the street level.
- At the top of the stairs to the right (or left from the elevator), you will see the entrance to Pentagon Row. Walk through the Pentagon Row entrance. You will enter a large open court with restaurants and shops.
- Follow the court along the left side, passing the Sine Irish Pub, Thaiphoon Thai restaurant, and several other businesses.

Parking in Metro lots
A SmarTrip card is the only form of payment accepted at Metro-operated parking lots. For more information about Metro parking and lot operating hours, see Parking at Metrorail Stations.
Where to Buy a SmarTrip Card
You may purchase SmarTrip cards online from the Metro Store. (Note: The Metro Store page is on a very slow server so it may take a while for the page to load.)
Standard SmarTrip Farecard
A renewable SmarTrip farecard purchased online has a $20 fare value already on it. The cost for the renewable card is $5. The total charge for this card is $25 online.
Senior and Disabled SmarTrip Farecard
In order to purchase a discounted farecard, Senior citizens (65 and older) and persons with disabilities must have proof of age or a valid WMATA Disabled ID card. Seniors citizens 65 years or older with a disability and Medicare card holders with a valid photo ID are not required to apply for the Metro Disability ID card, but may purchase fare by showing proof of age at any Metro Sales location, many public libraries in the District of Columbia, Montgomery County, and Prince George's County, and retail outlets. Applications for the free WMATA Disabled ID card are available from the Office of ADA Programs at 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001 or by calling 202-962-1245 or TTY 202-628-8973 or calling 202-962-1558 or TTY 202-962-2033 and requesting an application be mailed to you. A renewable SmarTrip farecard for senior (65 and older) and disabled riders purchased online has a $10 fare value already on it. The cost for the renewable card is $5. The total charge for this card is $15 online.
SmarTrip cards may also be purchased from vending machines in Metro stations but come with a lower initial fare value: $5 for the card with a $5 fare value for a total of $10 for the standard farecard. A separate vending machine allows you to add fare value up to $300 to the card.
