By Metro:
- Take the Red line train towards "Glenmont" to the Silver Spring Metro station View the current Metrorail map.
Walking from Metro
From the Metro station, head northeast on Colesville Road/MD-384 toward 2nd Avenue/Wayne Avenue and the toward the Beltway; about 4 1/2 blocks. Continue to follow Colesville Road until you get to the library, which is the second building on your right after you cross Spring Street.
By Bus:
Take the Ride On Bus #8 #9 #12 #13 #14 #22, or take the Metrobus #Zs. The library is 2 blocks from #C7 #Q2 #Y6 #Y8 stops in Silver Spring.
By Car:

From the Beltway (I-495):
- Take Exit 30, US-29 South Colesville Road toward Silver Spring.
- Take Colesville Road 1 mile to the library.
- Drive past Sligo Creek Parkway and Dale Drive.
- Continue on for several blocks to 8901 on the left-hand side of Colesvile Road just before the signal at Spring Street.
- Turn left into driveway on the far side of the library (opposite South Noyes Drive) to parking in the rear of the building.
North (Wheaton area):
- Go south on Georgia Avenue under the Beltway and continue to Spring Street.
- Turn left onto Spring Street and follow it around to Colesville Road.
- Turn left onto Colesville Road to 8901, which is just past the large apartment building after the signal at Spring Street.
- Turn right into driveway (opposite South Noyes Drive) and proceed past library on your left to parking in the rear of the building.
North (Rockville area):
- Take I-270 to I-495(Beltway) East. Take Exit I-495 at Exit 31 (Georgia Ave South).
- Proceed south on Georgia Avenue under the Beltway and continue to Spring Street.
- Turn left onto Spring Street and follow it around to Colesville Road.
- Turn left onto Colesville Road to 8901, which is just past the large apartment building after the signal at Spring Street.
- Turn right into driveway (opposite South Noyes Drive) and proceed past library on your left to parking in the rear of the building.
South (District of Columbia):
- Go north on Georgia Avenue to Colesville Road. Turn right at Colesville Road, cross Fenton and Spring Streets to 8901 Colesville Road on the right hand side. (Alternately, go north on 16th Street to the District line.)
- Turn right at Colesville Road, drive under the Metro tracks, cross Georgia Avenue, Fenton and Spring Streets to 8901 Colesville Road on the right hand side just past the large apartment building after the signal at Spring Street.
- Turn right into driveway (opposite South Noyes Drive) and proceed past library on your left to parking in the rear of the building.
East (Prince George's County):
- Proceed West on 495 to Exit 30, Colesville Road to Silver Spring.
- Drive past Sligo Creek Parkway and Dale Drive.
- Continue on for several blocks to 8901 on the left-hand side of Colesvile Road just before the signal at Spring Street.
- Turn left into driveway on the far side of the library (opposite South Noyes Drive) to parking in the rear of the building.

After turning onto the driveway, proceed past the library on your left to the parking lot in the rear of the building.

Note: Metro trains, although uncrowded, do not operate as frequently before 9 a.m. on Saturdays. The wait time between trains may be 15 minutes.
Parking in Metro lots
Parking at Metro-operated lots is FREE on weekends and federal holidays.
Where to Buy a SmarTrip Card
You may purchase SmarTrip cards online from the CommuterDirect store. SmarTrip cards are accepted on all Metrobuses, and many local transit systems in northern Virginia and Maryland such as Ride-On and the Fairfax Connector. (See the full list on CommuterPage.com.) Standard SmarTrip Farecard
A renewable SmarTrip farecard purchased online has a $20 fare value already on it. The cost for the renewable card is $5. The total charge for this card is $25 online.
Senior and Disabled SmarTrip Farecard
In order to purchase a discounted farecard, Senior citizens (65 and older) and persons with disabilities must have proof of age or a valid WMATA Disabled ID card. Seniors citizens 65 years or older with a disability and Medicare card holders with a valid photo ID are not required to apply for the Metro Disability ID card, but may purchase fare by showing proof of age at any Metro Sales location, many public libraries in the District of Columbia, Montgomery County, and Prince George's County, and retail outlets. Applications for the free WMATA Disabled ID card are available from the Office of ADA Programs at 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001 or by calling 202-962-1245 or TTY 202-628-8973 or calling 202-962-1558 or TTY 202-962-2033 and requesting an application be mailed to you. A renewable SmarTrip farecard for senior (65 and older) and disabled riders purchased online has a $10 fare value already on it. The cost for the renewable card is $5. The total charge for this card is $15 online.
SmarTrip cards may also be purchased from vending machines in Metro stations but come with a lower initial fare value: $5 for the card with a $5 fare value for a total of $10 for the standard farecard. A separate vending machine allows you to add fare value up to $300 to the card.
