NGS is located near the intersection of Lee Hwy and Prosperity Avenue in Merrifield, VA (near the Merrifield USPS Office and Merrifield Cineplex).

Conference Room:

Fifteen people fit around the room's large table, but there's space for more chairs in the back. A maximum of 20 people can be accommodated in the room.

By Metro:

Take the Orange line to the Dunn Loring Metro station. Taking a cab to Nortel because the distance is a 1/2 mile walk from the station. A cab ride will be less than $5/one-way. Kate Masters is offering metro travelers a ride from Dunn Loring metro station. You need to arrive at the metro station by 12:45 p.m. Kate will also provide a return ride at the end of the webinar.

From the Beltway:

  1. Take the exit to Arlington Blvd/Route 50 heading toward Fairfax.
  2. Merge onto Arlington Blvd.
  3. Take a right onto Prosperity Avenue.
  4. After you cross Lee Hwy and Hilltop Road, you'll see the office building on the right-hand side. If you reach the Dunn Loring Metro station, you've gone too far.

Park for free in a nearby lot.

Riding Metro to the Event

To plan your metro ride, use the Metro Trip Planner at http://www.wmata.com/rider_tools/tripplanner/tripplanner_form_solo.cfm. The Trip Planner will give you an idea of the travel time and fees from your Metro station to the station near the event.

Parking in Metro lots

A SmarTrip card is the only form of payment accepted at Metro-operated parking lots. For more information about Metro parking and lot operating hours, see Parking at Metrorail Stations.

Where to Buy a SmarTrip Card

You may purchase SmarTrip cards online from the Metro Store. (Note: The Metro Store page is on a very slow server so it may take a while for the page to load.)

Standard SmarTrip Farecard

A renewable SmarTrip farecard purchased online has a $20 fare value already on it. The cost for the renewable card is $5. The total charge for this card is $25 online.

Senior and Disabled SmarTrip Farecard

In order to purchase a discounted farecard, Senior citizens (65 and older) and persons with disabilities must have proof of age or a valid WMATA Disabled ID card. Seniors citizens 65 years or older with a disability and Medicare card holders with a valid photo ID are not required to apply for the Metro Disability ID card, but may purchase fare by showing proof of age at any Metro Sales location, many public libraries in the District of Columbia, Montgomery County, and Prince George's County, and retail outlets. Applications for the free WMATA Disabled ID card are available from the Office of ADA Programs at 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001 or by calling 202-962-1245 or TTY 202-628-8973 or calling 202-962-1558 or TTY 202-962-2033 and requesting an application be mailed to you. A renewable SmarTrip farecard for senior (65 and older) and disabled riders purchased online has a $10 fare value already on it. The cost for the renewable card is $5. The total charge for this card is $15 online.

SmarTrip cards may also be purchased from vending machines in Metro stations but come with a lower initial fare value: $5 for the card with a $5 fare value for a total of $10 for the standard farecard. A separate vending machine allows you to add fare value up to $300 to the card.
