AIR is the building near the Key Bridge. On-street parking is available and the area is very well lit at night. The front door will be locked after 6 p.m. Entry into the building will be by the side door, where a person will be waiting to greet you and let you in.
By Metro:
AIR is not very convenient to a Metro station, but workable if you are in a group of people who like to walk.
From Virginia:
Take the Orange or Blue line to the Rosslyn Metro station. Walk to the Key Bridge. Cross over the Key Bridge to M Street. Turn right and continue to Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right and go down the hill to K Street. Turn right (you will be under the Whitehurst Freeway). The building is on the right-hand side of K Street (aka Water Street) near the Key Bridge, just past 33rd Street. Enter at the side door.
From Maryland and DC:
Take the Orange or Blue line to the Foggy Bottom (GW University) Metro station. Take a taxi or walk 13 to 14 blocks along K or M Street to Wisconsin Avenue. Continue on K Street (you will be under the Whitehurst Freeway) to the AIR building. The building is on the right-hand side of K Street (aka Water Street) near the Key Bridge, just past 33rd Street Enter at the side door. Do not walk along the Canal at night.
By Car:

From Bethesda/Silver Spring:
Take the Beltway (I-495) toward Virginia. Take the Cabin John Parkway Exit, which becomes Clara Barton Parkway and empties onto M Street. Continue on M Street to Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right and go down the hill to K Street. Turn right (you will be under the Whitehurst Freeway). The building is on the right-hand side of K Street (aka Water Street) near the Key Bridge, just past 33rd Street.
From College Park/Greenbelt:
Take Rhode Island Avenue NE / US-1 South toward the District. Continue to follow Rhode Island Avenue NE. Enter the Logan Circle and 13th Street roundabout and take the 4th exit onto Rhode Island Avenue NW. Pass through a small roundabout at 16th Street and Massachusetts Avenue and continue on Rhode Island Avenue NW. Continue across Connecticut Avenue NW making a slight right onto M Street. Continue on M Street for about 0.9 miles to 29th Street NW. Turn left and go down the hill to K Street (you will be under the Whitehurst Freeway). Turn right onto K Street NW. Drive 7 blocks to 33rd Street. The building is on the right-hand side of K Street (aka Water Street) near the Key Bridge, just past 33rd Street.
From Downtown, Washington, DC:
Take M Street to 29th Street. Turn left and go down the hill to K Street (you will be under the Whitehurst Freeway). Turn right. Continue on K Street to 3333 K Street (aka Water Street). The building is on your right, just past 33rd Street.
From Virginia
Cross over the Key Bridge to M Street. Turn right and continue to Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right and go down the hill to K Street. Turn right (you will be under the Whitehurst Freeway). The building is on the right-hand side of K Street (aka Water Street) near the Key Bridge, just past 33rd Street.
Parking
Park anywhere on the street near the building.

Parking in Metro lots

Where to Buy a SmarTrip Card
You may purchase SmarTrip cards online from the Metro Store. (Note: The Metro Store page is on a very slow server so it may take a while for the page to load.)
Standard SmarTrip Farecard
A renewable SmarTrip farecard purchased online has a $20 fare value already on it. The cost for the renewable card is $5. The total charge for this card is $25 online.
Senior and Disabled SmarTrip Farecard
In order to purchase a discounted farecard, Senior citizens (65 and older) and persons with disabilities must have proof of age or a valid WMATA Disabled ID card. Seniors citizens 65 years or older with a disability and Medicare card holders with a valid photo ID are not required to apply for the Metro Disability ID card, but may purchase fare by showing proof of age at any Metro Sales location, many public libraries in the District of Columbia, Montgomery County, and Prince George's County, and retail outlets. Applications for the free WMATA Disabled ID card are available from the Office of ADA Programs at 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001 or by calling 202-962-1245 or TTY 202-628-8973 or calling 202-962-1558 or TTY 202-962-2033 and requesting an application be mailed to you. A renewable SmarTrip farecard for senior (65 and older) and disabled riders purchased online has a $10 fare value already on it. The cost for the renewable card is $5. The total charge for this card is $15 online.
SmarTrip cards may also be purchased from vending machines in Metro stations but come with a lower initial fare value: $5 for the card with a $5 fare value for a total of $10 for the standard farecard. A separate vending machine allows you to add fare value up to $300 to the card.
