Eddie VanArsdall served as chapter president during the 2005-2006 chapter year. In 2006-2007, he served as the immediate past president and also as the managing editor of our chapter newsletter. He has also served as chapter secretary, event coordinator, and roundtable presenter.

Eddie first began writing manuals and teaching business users in 1986. He is now an independent consultant providing expert technical writing and editing, classroom training and instructional design, online help and user assistance development, and template development for print and online output. Eddie has designed information solutions for government agencies, law firms, the World Bank, and clients in the telecommunications, health insurance, and mortgage industries.

As a consultant at the National Cancer Institute Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology, Eddie creates information products that support the Enterprise Vocabulary Services team. He is also a business partner with MadCap Software® and provides training for MadCap Flare users.

Footnote: Eddie has a bachelor's degree in music and is a retired jazz vocalist. He has performed at Blues Alley in Washington, DC, the Blue Note in New York City, and the Spoleto Jazz Festival in Charleston, SC, both as part of the vocal group Mad Romance and as a soloist. He won a Wammie Award from the Washington (DC) Area Music Association in 1992 for Jazz, Male Vocalist; and in 1993 for Jazz – Contemporary, Male Vocalist.
