Kristen Sweet

Kristen L. Sweet served as WDC-MB Chapter President from 2006-2008. Before this role, Kristen helped coordinate events as the Vice President, Events Committee Manager from 2004-2006. She was also a roundtable speaker at Career Day in 2003 and Technical Publications Judge in 1998 and 2001. Kristen is an active participant in the Washington, DC - Metro Baltimore Chapter as a senior member. During her first year as President, the chapter received an Excellence award from the Society.
Kristen is a senior technical writer with 11 years of experience. She has worked for federal government agencies and also private sector companies. Kristen's experience as a technical communicator includes developing SDLC documentation, designing and delivering training, writing proposals, and designing brochures, newsletters, and quick reference guides.
Kristen is currently employed by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) on a contract at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), supporting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (US CIS) in Washington, DC. Kristen is lead Technical Writer developing Information Technology Lifecycle Management (ITLM) documentation. She also serves as a Functional Analyst on the development of the Integrated Digitization Management Program (IDDMP), supporting the Enterprise Document Management System (EDMS), a web-based portal which enables users to search for digitized A-Files and Accounts.
Kristen has been a member of STC since 1994, when she joined the Bowling Green State University student chapter in Bowling Green, Ohio. After graduating in 1997 with a B.A. in Scientific and Technical Communication, she moved to the Washington, DC area.
Kristen currently lives in Silver Spring. She enjoys creative writing, photography, music, and spending time with friends and family.
