Lina Scorza

Lina Scorza is a senior member of the STC Washington DC Chapter. An STC member since 1996, she has served as a member of the Administrative Council, and in 2007-08 she was Competitions Manager. She has been a judge and a lead judge in the chapter Technical Publications competition in previous years.

Lina is an award-winning technical writer. For over a decade, she has specialized in designing user assistance materials for commercial software and hardware products. Her experience involves designing user assistance materials, writing for an international audience, and leading documentation teams. She has documented products in telecommunications, billing, customer care and management, professional printing, and manufactured goods. She has worked for a number of large and small companies such as Scitex, XACCT Technologies, and Amdocs.

She holds an M.A. degree in English and in 1996 earned an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Maryland. Before becoming a technical writer, Lina taught English at the college level. She has held teaching positions at the University of Maryland at College Park, Maryland; the University of Delhi, India; and the Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria.
