Janet Scharp

Janet Scharp uses her oral and written communication skills in working for NetStar-1, Inc., as a Customer Support representative for a Department of Defense client. She enjoys the personal interaction with clients that this job affords. Past jobs have included such tasks as creating computer-related user manuals and help files; editing proposals, reports, and viewgraphs; writing technical support bulletins; preparing meeting minutes and performing data entry for a database; and copyreading a 2,000-page medical manual. Janet served the Washington, D.C Chapter as Competition Entries Manager in the 2008/2009 Competition. She has held a variety of other chapter offices, including President, First Vice President/Competition Manager, Second Vice President/Program Manager, and Secretary. She holds an M.A. in English, Professional Writing Track, from George Mason University and a B.S. in Technical Writing and Editing from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University).
