Ann Ray

Ann Ray began her career in IT as a mainframe programmer. User advocacy led to a varied career in information development and involvement in STC. For over twenty years, she has worked for small private firms and large government agencies, producing software user assistance, proposals, and Web content. She is currently working as a contract technical writer and Web content manager at the Department of Labor in Washington, DC.

Ann is a senior member of STC. She is the Employment Committee manager and has served as the Competition Manager in previous years. Ann served as the Second Vice President for 06-07.

Ann graduated from American University and has lived and worked in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. She lives on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and son. Her two grown daughters live in Silver Spring, MD. She is active in her community, writing newsletters, dance programs, grant proposals, bylaws, and a church Web site.
