1st Vice President, STC Washington DC Chapter
Design work is how everyone recognizes Jennifer Reed's contributions to our chapter. She served as the production layout specialist for The Capital Letter in 2005-2006 and created and designed the postcards that were sent out for events from 2003-2005. She is an active participant in the chapter, and currently serves as the chapter's Secretary.
Jennifer is the sole technical writer for a department of ≈250 people at AOL, Inc. She has been with the group for 5 years, and has had writing responsibilities the 8 years she's been with the company. Her experience includes writing help files, SDLC documentation, and quick reference guides; managing document repositories; and editing others' documentation.
Jennifer grew up in Utah, graduating with a B.S. in Microbiology from Weber State University. She then became one of the second groups of graduates to earn their M.S. in Technical Writing from Utah State University online degree program. AOL transferred her from Utah to Arizona to work for 2 years in Knowledge Engineering and Quality Control, and then brought her to Virginia 5 years ago to work with the Internal Computing department.
Jennifer currently lives in Hamilton, VA and enjoys photography, cooking, and working on her house.
