Laura Jackel

Former Chapter Officer & Committee Manager

Laura Jackel is a Senior member of STC and is currently raising a family in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She is active in the Washington, DC - Metro Baltimore Chapter, was Treasurer in two previous years, and is familiar with how the chapter should manage money and prioritize financial obligations. Llaura has also served as the Hospitality Committee Manager & Membership Committee Manager for the chapter. She has been a Judging Coordinator for the Washington, DC - Metro Baltimore Chapter's Technical Publications and Technical Art Competitions three times, and each year, recruited close to 50 volunteer judges who evaluated about 140 publications and art entries.

Since 1994, she has received seven Technical Publications and Technical Art awards from the Washington, DC - Metro Baltimore Chapter and one at the international level of competition. In 1998, she received a Distinguished Chapter Service Award from the Washington, DC - Metro Baltimore Chapter.

Laura earned a Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
