Harold Hofstad

History Committee Manager & Former Officer, STC Washington DC Chapter

Harold Hofstad has worked as a technical writer and editor for 20 years, and has been an STC member since 1985, when he joined the East Bay chapter in California. He served as chapter secretary there from 1992 through 1994 while working at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory in the Electronics Engineering Department. He moved to Arlington, VA in 1996.

In 1998, Harold served as a judge in the annual Technical Publications Competition. The following year (1999-2000) he won the Distinguished Technical Publication award for his own entry. For the last four years he has worked as IT Manager/Desktop Publisher/Graphic Artist at Metro Reprographic Management Systems in Arlington.

Harold served as the 2nd Vice President and Competitions Committee Manager in the 2003-2004 chapter year. Harold served as the chapter secretary for STC WDC from fall 2001 until 2003. He has also served as History Committee Manager and as Competition Awards Manager since fall 2002. He produced printed materials for the chapter such as full-color signs and competition award certificates.

Harold has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota (1979).
